access restriction
  • If this button is checked, a secret key for data access will be issued during the upload process. There is absolutely no way for you to retrieve your data without this key.
  • If this is button is not checked, anyone will be able to view and delete your data.

    genotype file
filename must not contain any characters except letters, digits, & underscores - spaces are not allowed
this file must be plain text and can be zipped or gzipped - formats & sample files
Illumina file with real genotypes, coded as A/C/G/T - due to the conversion into A/B genotypes, this is relatively slow.
    VCF upload
    minimum coverage use...
only relevant for VCF files - genotypes with a coverage below this value are neglected
you must set this value to 0 unless your VCF files have the DP flag in the FORMAT(!) column

    • Due to storage limitations, data created as guest will be deleted from time to time (we keep the data at least for two months).
    • Adding new genotypes to an existing private project is only possible with a user account.
    • You cannot use the homozygosity around a gene in GeneDistiller if your genotypes are private and you are not logged in.
    • Project and file names must not contain any other characters than letters, digits and _.
    • There is no size limit for uploads but very large files (> 100 MB) are likely to cause server time-outs unless the connection is very fast.
    • Please zip or gzip your files to accelerate data upload - especially files larger than 10 MB.
    • Upload times may be longer with Microsoft Internet Explorer than with Mozilla Firefox.
    • If you experience network time-outs anyway, either split your file into smaller parts or write us an e-mail - we will certainly find a solution to upload your data.
    • Never press reload after submitting (unless another page is displayed).
